FAQs

Question

Wait, so we're camping?

Answer

Not exactly. If you choose to stay with us at camp, you will be assigned to a cabin equipped with bunks and single beds. We will group friends and families together but should you require extra privacy, let us know and we will try to give you your own cabin or half-cabin.

Question

Is there parking at camp?

Answer

Yes! You're welcome to park your car or rental car at the camp should you choose to. If you're not planning on leaving camp during the weekend, it would probably be easier to just take an uber, lyft, or taxi to and from the airport.

Question

If I'm staying at the camp, do I need to bring bedding?

Answer

You can either bring your own bedding (a pillow & a sleeping bag or sheets and blankets) OR you can rent bedding from the camp for $15 if reserved ahead of time. If you need to rent bedding, please let us know when you RSVP.

Question

What else should I bring?

Answer

We suggest bringing a flashlight or headlamp, a water bottle, sun protection, a swimsuit & TOWEL, clothes for camp activities, and warm clothing or an outside blanket for the evenings. If you’re local, please bring camp chairs/loungers.

Question

What if I don't want to stay at the camp?

Answer

Totally fine! We have listed several nearby hotel options in the Travel section. Please call them SOON to reserve a room for yourself or, alternatively, find a suitable airbnb. Don't forget to reserve your own transportation and let us know under the RSVP tab which events at camp you will be attending.

Question

Will there be a shuttle to and from the hotels?

Answer

Unfortunately, we are not able to provide transportation as there are an array of hotel options and we are channeling all of our planning powers into making sure the weekend at camp runs as smoothly as possible. You shouldn't have a problem booking a rental car at the Asheville Regional Airport though!

Question

Should I bring money?

Answer

Guests will only be responsible for their own transportation to & from the airport and bedding rental (if necessary).

Question

Are the Ceremony & Reception taking place at the same location?

Answer

Yes! All wedding events are taking place at Camp Pinnacle.

Question

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Weather permitting, the ceremony and cocktail hour will take place outside. Dinner and the reception will take place in the Gym area which, while covered, is still open on the sides and somewhat exposed to the outdoor elements. Dress accordingly!

Question

What time should I arrive for the Ceremony?

Answer

We were hoping you'd ask! The ceremony will start promptly at 5 PM. If you are staying at camp, please make your way to the lakeside by 4:45 PM for seating. If you are staying off-site, please arrive 25 minutes early to allow time for parking & seating.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

Under each event listed under the Schedule tab, we have specified the "dress code." This clearly isn't your typical black tie wedding so don't worry about it too much. However, we ask that ladies please refrain from wearing white, ivory, or cream colored attire.

Question

What kind of shoes should I wear to the Ceremony & Reception?

Answer

Whatever shoes you feel comfortable in. Keep in mind that the property has grass, rock, and dirt terrain, and the Ceremony will be taking place at the bottom of a hill. We do not recommend wearing heels.

Question

Can I take photos and videos during the ceremony?

Answer

We would love for all of our friends and family to be fully present in the moment with us, so we are having an "unplugged" Ceremony. We ask that you silence or turn off your phones and refrain from taking photos & videos during the Ceremony. You are welcome to take photos & videos during the Reception!

Question

Am I allowed to bring a plus one?

Answer

We have tried our best to accommodate our guests, but unfortunately space is limited. If a Plus One has been allotted to you, your invitation will reflect that. We look forward to spending the weekend celebrating with our closest friends and family!

Question

Are children invited?

Answer

Invitations will be addressed to your "family" if your children are invited. Of course, you know your kids better than we do so if you feel that they may be distracting or disruptive, use your discretion and perhaps leave them at home and use this as a weekend away for yourselves!

Question

Can I bring my pet?

Answer

We kindly ask that you leave your furry loved ones at home.

Question

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

We will have signature cocktails and an open bar during Cocktail Hour and Dinner, after which the bar will transition to serving beer and wine only. Please bring a valid ID & drink responsibly!

Question

Can I smoke cigarettes? Other things?

Answer

Please do not! Hard no. Camp Pinnacle has a strict No Smoking at Camp Policy and we ask that our guests are respectful of that.

Question

When is my RSVP due?

Answer

Please RSVP by March 2, 2025 by clicking the RSVP tab on this website, which will become active once invitations are sent.

Question

What if I can't make it?

Answer

You will be missed! Please let us know by clicking the RSVP tab on this website. If you have already RSVP'd attending, but find that you will not make it, please text our wedding planner Christine at 828-808-8667.
