Our relationship developed under the weirdest of circumstances. Tina was living in Florida and John had been living in Georgia. Since COVID had shut down the world we both decided to access online dating. On June 6th 2020, we matched and we had lunch the next day as John was on his way back to Georgia with his dog Gunner. We had lunch at Hurricane Alley in Boynton Beach, FL. We spoke every day for hours via video chat, and 2 weeks later John drove back to Florida to take Tina out on a date, and 2 weeks after that Tina flew to Georgia. We instantly knew we had found something special, I think it kind of spooked us both with how easy life was moving even though we weren't under the most ideal of circumstances. Tina was finishing her doctorate in Florida and just opened her private practice, and John had just launched his own business in Georgia and just lost his apartment to a fire - oh and the whole world was shut down. None of that mattered. A little over a year after we met, we moved into our first home with our dog Gunner. A month later, we got Ash, and a year after we welcomed our 3rd dog, Chibs. If you know us, you know that we love our dogs so much. We do our best to include them in all of our adventures. On 12/27/22, we were in Alabama celebrating John's birthday. After a night out, we headed back to our air bnb. We took the dogs out, it was an absolutely beautiful starry night. When we went back inside he proposed- just us and the dogs. Perfect. We found each other after we found ourselves, which is my favorite part of our story.
