This park offers biking, canoeing, swimming, hiking, and fishing. For bikers, there are 6 miles of flowy singletrack of the 12 miles of off-road biking trails. 5.5 miles of hiking trails offered at Hartman Creek are part of the Ice Age Trail, which stretches 1200 miles across the state. There is a 300 foot beach and several lakes stocked with largemouth bass, perch, bluegill and other panfish. Fishing piers are along the east shore of Allen Lake and at Whispering Pines on Marl Lake.
Some of our favorite coffee of all time is roasted right here in Wisconsin at Ruby Coffee in a small town called Nelsonville. Many years ago we camped at THE Nelson of Nelsonville's old property and came to love this tiny little town. It's about a 20 minute drive from Waupaca, but it's worth a visit if you love coffee! Open Friday - Sunday from 7 am - 3 pm.
