The Wedding Website of Jessica Cooper and Nathan Hathorn
Question

Why are we going to camp?

Answer

We wanted a place where all of our family and best friends could stay together for the entire weekend. Lots of time to hang, multiple days to celebrate, and tons of laughter! What place better than a summer camp in the Catskill Mountains?!

Question

What kind of food will we be eating, and what if I have dietary restrictions?

Answer

Breakfast and lunch (Saturday and Sunday) and Monday Brunch are included in your Camp Packages, depending on which option you select (see “Book Your Stay”). The menu for each meal is still being planned, but each will be prepared by the camp chef Reggie - we’ve heard he’s amazing! - and served as a buffet. Dinners are provided by us as part of the weekend celebration. We’ll be doing a BBQ on Friday and a taco party on Sunday. And on Saturday, we’re planning a feast to celebrate our wedding! We both love a well-rounded meal with lots of vegetables, so we’re sure you’ll find something you like! When you provide your official RSVP, you’ll have the opportunity to make us aware of any dietary restrictions. Don’t worry, we will be prepared for you!

Question

What about drinks?

Answer

We will provide water, seltzer, juice, beer, wine and mixers over the course of the whole weekend as well as a full open bar for the Wedding on Saturday! Otherwise, the camp is BYOB, and we encourage you to bring whatever beverages/bottles you would like to enjoy.

Question

What if I don’t get around very well or if I want to relax all weekend?

Answer

Have no fear! If you struggle with mobility, we’ve got a golf cart to help get you around the camp and to the group events. And, while many of the options for adventure are more active, there are plenty of more relaxing things to do too! From board games to puzzles to crafts, there’s fun around every corner. Not to mention the amazingly beautiful places to pull up a chair to get lost in a book or a stunning view. Our hope for the weekend is that it is fun and relaxing for everyone!

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Yes! We love you and your kids, and there are so many ways for the entire family to enjoy Camp Coophorn! We cannot guarantee to have any cabins reserved for a single family but will do our best if you have specific housing requests. (Please click on the link to “Book Your Stay” for more information about accommodations.)

Question

What if the weather is bad?

Answer

We'll have fun anyway!!! Seriously! Luckily, Timber Lake Camp has a lot of indoor areas to complement the great outdoors. We’re still brainstorming our full rain plan, but entertainment could include a covered roller skating party, cooking classes, arts-and-crafts, movie screenings and so much more! We’ve got you covered (no pun intended, ha! ha!).

Question

What should I pack?

Answer

Your Camp Package (see “Book Your Stay”) will include all meals, drinks and activities, as well as linens for your bunk and a bath towel. But you may want to bring: - Swim gear and a beach towel - Extra warmth, such as a blanket or a wool sweater - Hiking shoes and/or sneakers - Flip flops for the shower or water front - Toiletries, including bug spray and sunscreen - An air mattress if you want to join the twin beds (to sleep two, side-by-side) - Camera and maybe a flashlight - A rain jacket and umbrella (just in case!) - Extra booze (Camp Coophorn is BYOB!) and snacks - Instruments, costumes, flair and other talent show gear!

Question

What is flair, you might ask?

Answer

As Kate Kondolf has said, “Channel yo creativity thru your attire. Decorate yo bodies. Go big. Go wild. Everything works. Get funky. Get spunky. The possibilities are endless.”

Question

What is the dress code like for a camp wedding?

Answer

We are not the formal type, but we like fancy! Just wear something that's comfortable and made for fun times. You will be walking on grass and possibly a slight hill or two, so we don’t recommend steep heels for the ladies ... but kudos if you try!

Question

Will I have wifi or cell service while at Camp Coophorn?

Answer

Plan to disconnect for the weekend. Due to the remote location in the Catskill Mountains, cell service is very spotty. There will be a few locations where wifi will be available, and TLC has land lines if needed.

Question

Why a rose and a sloth?

Answer

Well, let's start with the tree-hanging sloth. Nate says that his spirit animal is the sloth. Just like sloths, Nate loves to eat, chill and sleep. And just like Nate, sloths are very patient, relaxed, and take their time to enjoy the small things in life. Stress? Just take a chill pill. Jessica says that she doesn't identify with any one spirit animal, but her always-going, super-organized, achiever-oriented personality is definitely complemented by Nate's mellow vibe. Nate often has to catch her and bring her back to reality (IE coax her to unwind on the couch). And the rose? Simple. Jessica's middle name is Rose, and the rose is considered a symbol of balance, promise, hope, and new beginnings ... Thus, it seemed perfectly fitting for the sloth to be catching the rose! -- May the rest of our lives be so perfectly balanced --
