Things To Do

Enjoy some of our favorite spots in the Lynchburg area!
Smith Mountain Lake

Smith Mountain Lake

1235 State park Road, Huddleston, VA 24104

On the second largest freshwater lake in the state, this picturesque park is the water enthusiast's paradise. There are numerous water activities, including swimming, boat rentals, a boat ramp and a universally accessible fishing pier. You can also enjoy picnicking, a visitor center, an amphitheater, special programs, camping, miles of trails and cabins with boat docks.

Falling River Country Club

Falling River Country Club

2140 Country Club Road, Appomattox, VA 24522

A common spot for the couple to go to fish or play a round of golf. This 18 hole course features bent grass greens and Bermuda tees. With gently rolling hills and undulating greens, the course is challenging but fair.

Blackwater Creek Trail Trailhead

Blackwater Creek Trail Trailhead

134 Village Park Court, Lynchburg, VA 24501

The Blackwater Creek Natural Area (BWCNA) is primarily a linear greenway that follows the winding route of Blackwater Creek, incorporating wooded hillsides and stream valleys throughout its length. Extensive trails- both paved and earthen- allow hikers, bikers, and runners access to most of the natural area, as well as connecting busy neighborhoods, schools, and parks to the peace and solitude of the Blackwater Creek trail system.

Bold Rock Nellysford Cidery

Bold Rock Nellysford Cidery

1020 Rockfish Valley Highway, Nellysford, VA 22958

One of our favorite drinks and spots! If you are coming from the north, it is just a 20 minute detour to get here on your way to or from Lynchburg.
