Please note, parking can be limited. Here are our suggestions: • We highly recommend walking. The house is an easy walk from town and most hotels, so it’s a nice opportunity to stroll over and grab a coffee and some food. Make sure to walk down to check out the beach on your way out. • If you are driving, check nearby streets if nothing is available directly around the house. • You can also take an Uber. • Click here for the address and directions Driving Yourself to Events • Parking is available onsite at both The Hay (Friday Welcome Party) and Mission Ranch (Saturday Wedding). • For Friday’s Welcome Party, please mention at the 17-Mile Drive security booth that you are attending the Gearon Welcome Party at The Hay. You will not need to pay an entry fee. Weather • We wanted to note that the weather at night in Carmel can get chilly and we highly recommend bringing some layers.

The Story

"There will come a time when you believe everything is finished. That will be the beginning." — Louis L’Amour I met the love of my life just as I was on my way out. I had finished law school in Atlanta, registered for the Florida Bar Exam, and packed my bags. I was ready to move on. But before I left, I went on a date with a boy named Jack, whom I had just met. We quickly discovered how much we had in common—similar college experiences (he at Princeton, I at UCLA), a shared love of travel, a love for belly laughs, and a deep appreciation for our families and childhood friendships. I didn’t have much time left in Atlanta, and with the Bar Exam looming, I figured our relationship would be brief. We were just two people on a collision course with time, destined to be separated. But love, it turns out, has its own path. And though we thought we were headed for an inevitable goodbye, the connection between us deepened in ways neither of us could deny. What began as something fleeting soon became a bond neither distance nor time could break. It wasn’t long before we realized—this was no coincidence. It felt as if some greater force had brought us together. We were inseparable; the depth of our connection was greater than the miles between Tampa and Atlanta. We couldn’t ignore the powerful pull between us, a love that couldn’t be undone. We are getting married on October 25, 2025, in Carmel-by-the-Sea. Why Carmel? After I took the Bar Exam, Jack and I found ourselves alone for the first time since meeting, with nothing to study. In that freedom, we explored not only each other but also this beautiful town, nestled on the edge of the Pacific Ocean. Carmel, with its small-town charm, is a place where the ocean meets the land in a perfect harmony—no sidewalks, no streetlights, just cottages tucked away among trees, with seals basking on the shore and gulls flying above. The beauty of this place felt like a reflection of our love: pure, natural, and enduring. Carmel seemed to symbolize the kind of relationship we wanted to build—strong enough to endure whatever life throws at it, whether fierce winds, monstrous waves, or even an earthquake. A marriage as lasting as the landscape. We are so excited to invite our family and closest friends to this sacred place, and we hope that each of you will experience the same depth of love and joy we have found in life, in nature, and in each other.
