Flight

Mexico City International Airport Benito Juárez

Set your destination to MEX! The airport is about 30-45 minutes away from the city center — once you're off the plane, you can call a cab or Uber and push off pretty quickly.

Travel Note

Places to stay

We have a room block at the Hotel Andaz in Condesa. Please use the VIEW link below to book with a preferred rate on rooms from Monday Sept. 14th through Wednesday Sept. 23rd. If you're not feeling the Andaz, you can book an AirBnB/Vrbo or a different hotel. We found these boutique properties in the Coyoacán neighborhood, close to where the wedding will take place: - H21 Hospedaje Boutique (https://www.h21.mx/) - Casa Tuna (https://tunacoyoacan.com/) - Casa Moctezuma (https://casamoctezuma.com/)

Getting a cab

Uber is available (and pretty cheap) in CDMX!

Changing money

You can use your ATM/credit cards in Mexico City without any issue, but some of the best experiences are either cash only or cash-preferred (street tacos, for one!) so we recommend coming with some in hand. Tipping, as in the states, is also customary to show appreciation for good service. The best planners amongst us will retrieve pesos from their local bank branches before the trip but you can also withdraw money from any ATM with ease (check with your bank to see if they have partnerships with any Mexican banks to avoid fees)! We do not recommend exchanging money at the airport or hotel due to poor conversion rates. Check out this currency converter to see the best exchange rates from USD to MXN.

Travel Note

A note about the water

The water in Mexico City is NOT safe to drink. Hotels will usually provide complimentary bottled water, and if you're staying at an Airbnb we recommend buying some large bottles of water and/or bagged ice at a local grocery store or OXXO. Steer clear of ice made with tap water, raw vegetables like lettuce, and street vendors serving raw foods. Make sure to only drink and even brush your teeth with bottled water—we don't want anyone getting sick!
