Things To Do

We're so excited to have you join us in beautiful Mexico City! Whether you're coming straight from home or are making a stop on a much-needed vacation, we hope you can take the time to explore everything CDMX has to offer. We've put together a list of recommendations for museums, entertainment, restaurants, and bars. Most brick and mortar spots accept credit/debit card but when it comes to art/tacos/anything sold in the calle, CASH IS KING.

Palacio de Bellas Artes

S/N Avenida Juarez, Ciudad de México, CDMX 06050, Mexico

Fine art museum with amazing art deco architecture.

Live wrestling! With masks! And theatrics! HIGHLY recommend. Extremely fun show, loud audience, and you can buy a luchador mask on your way in — or out.

Taquería El Califa de León

56 Avenida Ribera de San Cosme, Ciudad de México, CDMX 06470, Mexico

Michelin-starred taco stand in San Rafael. Bring some pesos.

Campobaja

124-E Colima, Ciudad de México, CDMX 06700, Mexico

Delicious seafood restaurant, comparable to the famous Contramar and easier to get into.

Si Mon Vinos Mexicanos

Nudo Negro

139 Zacatecas, Ciudad de México, CDMX 06700, Mexico

Highly recommended Italian food, in case you're missing a taste of home.

Café Tacobar

Zinco Jazz Club

20 Calle de Motolinia, Ciudad de México, CDMX 06050, Mexico

There are plenty of places to see live music in Mexico City but this is certainly one of the best. World class artists playing in an intimate environment. Check the instagram or website for bookings, you won't regret taking in a show if you find something your speed.

Te Amo Jamaica🇯🇲

540 Avenida Chapultepec, Cuauhtémoc, CDMX 06700, Mexico

Jamaican food in Mexico? We're trying to tell you, they have everything here! If you need a break from the endlessly delicious assortment of tacos and Mexican flavors the city offers, take it to the island one time!

Mercado de Artesanías La Ciudadela

S/N Balderas, Ciudad de México, CDMX 06040, Mexico

Great market for trinkets/souvenirs. (CASH IS KING)

Maizajo

113 Fernando Montes de Oca, Ciudad de México, CDMX 06140, Mexico

While we hate the idea of inviting you to stand in a line for food, these tacos are unreal (vegetarian options as well). The play is to get there just before they open at 1pm for the shortest wait. When they open (which is not always 1 on the dot), things move quickly because it's standing-only counter service.

Hot Air Balloon Ride!

Hot Air Balloon Ride!

San Juan Teotihuacán, Méx., Mexico

This one is for those who want to make the absolute most of the trip: It's a half day trip that starts the night before (gotta go to bed at a decent hour). They pick you up at 4:30 in the morning and drive you about an hour outside of the city. You enjoy coffee/pastries and watch the sunrise while they fill up the hot air balloons. And then comes one of the most magical experiences you could ever imagine. The ride is never scary or turbulent and they take you up really slowly. Also, they feed you brunch when you come down, and there's an option to tour the ruins you sail over as well. You're back in the city by early-mid afternoon. 10/10 experience, cannot recommend enough.
