FAQs

The Wedding Website of Camilla Aikin and Bobby Smiley
While Dr. Brule ponders, some possible FAQs posed & answered
Question

What's the running order for the evening?

Answer

Reception starts at 5:00, nuptials at 6:00, and the matchless music of the Vuglar Boatmen & informal buffet-ish dining options available beginning at 6:30. Between then and close will be bouquet tossing, toasting & terpsichorean fun!

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

"Cocktail attire" or "dressy casual" seems the most apt, but candidly feel free to come as you are. We've got some greens and pinks garlanded around the main room, but you don't need to arrive sporting either of these colors.

Question

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

We highly recommend getting an Airbnb, if only for the convenience and price (Nashville hotels can be spendy). If booking a room, however, we suggest finding hotels either downtown, the Gulch, or West End (near Vanderbilt) for proximity and options. Here's a link for a Google Maps listing of Nashville hostelry: https://tinyurl.com/yckyp4lx

Question

Will food be served?

Answer

Yes! However, in the interest of keeping this a lower-key affair, we will not have a formal, sit-down meal with assigned tables, but instead a more buffet-style set-up. The food is a combination of light & heavy appetizers, as well as a few mains. Options will be available for vegetarians and vegans. The spread will be listed soon!

Question

And booze?

Answer

Need you even ask. It's an open bar 😉

Question

What about my hot date?

Answer

The invites should have RSVPs included for the plus ones, but if "you couldn't smooth a silk sheet if you had a hot date with a babe," please feel free to invite a friend. (Free cocktail to the first person(s) who texts Bobby &/or Camilla sourcing the reference in the previous sentence; it's something for the rest of us!)

Question

What about transportation?

Answer

Because folks will probably be staying in my many disparate places, there is not shuttle service to and from the venue. However, Lyft (or Uber) drivers in the city are very responsive, quick & plentiful. If you're driving your own vehicle, the American Legion should have ample parking to accommodate attendees; best of all, it's also free.
