Round trips flights from Atlanta to cartagena:

1) Delta - My first choice. Daily flight to Bogota, if purchasing ticket through Delta.com the connection is going to make you wait until next day and flight with Latam. My suggestion is to buy a separate flight with Avianca on the last flight and get to Cartagena at midnight. Usually flight leaves from Atlanta at 5am, arrives to Bogota at 7pm: therefore, there is some time to go through immigration and get on the other flight. No need to stay the night. To come back, there is a flight at 5:00am with Avianca that would prevent you from having to spend the night. Leave cartagena at 5:00am, arrive at 6:00am and wait until 9:00am to flight back to Atlanta. 2) American Airlines - daily flight with layover in Miami 3) Spirit - daily flight with layover in Fortlauderdale 4) Jetblue- the same as spirit All these flights (2,3 and 4) arrive at noon in Cartagena and leave Cartagena in the afternoon, but all arrive the same day.

How is Cartagena during covid times?

Answer

As of today 06/07/2021, the city has a curfew from 10:00pm until 5:00am weekends and weekdays. Covid cases are somehow high, but the local government will issue new adjustment for covid regulations on June 16th. Colombia stared vaccinations this months (February/2021) by June, it is expected to have most of the vulnerable population covered.

Is Cartagena safe?

Answer

Yes. In fact, Cartagena is officially the safest city in Colombia. Indeed, 2017 crime statistics show that Cartagena (and the other large cities in Colombia) are actually safer than many cities in The United States. The main tourist locations (like Bocagrande, The Old City, and Getsemani) are perfectly safe for vacationers.

Cartagena's Airport is relatively small and positioned well – less than 6 kilometers (3.7 miles) from old town Cartagena. It takes about 20 minutes to go from CTG to Cartagena city centre.

Can I use Uber in Cartagena?

Yes, it is available again in Colombia. You can also use local taxis. Remember to have cash because you cannot pay with cards. The taxi fare from the old city/centro to bocagrande or manga can be about $8,000 COP. This is about $2,5 usd.
