Check-Mig is a mandatory travel document required to enter and depart Colombia. All travelers need to complete this online application 24 hours to an hour before your flight to and from Colombia. We highly recommend filling out the form on a desktop computer and taking any pictures of any errors that show up. Proof of error is important. COVID-19 Vaccine and Vaccination Cards

As of May 1, 2022, visitors to Colombia ages 18 or older will need to provide proof of complete vaccination for entry. Travelers should be prepared to show their original, physical vaccination card or digital certificate both at airline check-in and when passing through Colombian Immigration. The vaccination document must include the individual’s full name, date of vaccination, name of the vaccine administered, and the number of doses administered. *A photo of one’s vaccination card may not be accepted.* If you completed your vaccination scheme within 14 days before entry to Colombia you will also need to have an antigen test 48 hours prior to arrival or a PCR test 72 hours prior to arrival in Colombia. Note: Some places in Cartagena will require proof of vaccine.

There are many beautiful Airbnb in the old city and nearby neighborhoods. We highly recommend staying within the old city (el centro) or Getsemani since these two neighborhoods are within walking distance of the wedding festivities. Another close-by and safe neighborhood would be Bocagrande. However, you might need to take more taxis/Uber rides to get from place to place.

Cab/Taxi Information

If you plan to take a taxi, make sure to have a little bit of Colombian pesos on hand. The taxi ride from the airport to the old city is around 15000 COP which is around $4 USD. Be sure to ask the price prior to taking the ride. The taxis are totally safe and you can hire them in the exit of the terminal. The total travel time from the airport to the old city is around 15 minutes depending on traffic.
