A car is not necessary, as all the wedding festivities are within walking distance. Driving and finding parking can be extremely difficult. If you need transportation from the airport please refer to the TRAVEL & HOTEL INFO page. Taxis and Ubers are reliable there and only take a few minutes to get to the walled city.
You can either walk or take a short taxi/Uber ride to the church.
Kids are more than welcome to celebrate with us at the church but we request no children under the age of 13 in the reception hall. We will have a kids room with sitters at the venue for your convenience.
For the wedding day reception, we request attendees to wear formal or black tie optional attire. - Attire ideas for women: floor-length gown, a fancy cocktail dress, or a dressy pantsuit. - Attire ideas for men: tuxedo, formal suit, dress shirt, and bow tie/tie.
It's recommended to take some Colombian currency so that you would be able to pay for taxi rides and any place that does not take credit cards. The currency exchange rate changes frequently, please refer xoom.com for the latest rates.
If you want to coordinate private transportation, we recommend Jairo Joel. He is able to accommodate transportation for any size party and he speaks English. We use his services whenever we travel in Cartagena! The best way to contact him is through WhatsApp; his number is +57 312 877 7086. Please contact Camila (304) 282-1205, if you have any issues with confirmation.
Colombia is like any other country, there are good places and bad ones. Cartagena, specifically its walled city, is very tourist friendly. That being said, like with any city, please be mindful of your surroundings. Use the buddy system and avoid things like walking alone at night or down sketchy roads. We recommend you don't draw too much attention to yourself. Wearing your best jewelry and name-brand handbags is not the best idea.
You should not drink the water from the tap, but brushing your teeth is perfectly fine. Bottled water is the way to go.
Cartagena is a city that is located on the shores of the Caribbean Sea, in the northwestern part of Colombia. The port city is known for its colorful buildings, a rich history and plenty of things to see and do.
