Comfortable and casual! Our wedding is on a Floridian beach in May. It will be hot, humid, and sandy! We recommend clothing such as sundresses, Hawaiian shirts, polo shirts, khakis, and sandals. Please remember to bring your hats, sunglasses, and sunscreen. We strongly recommend against heels or other footwear not conducive to beach sand.
Yes, absolutely! Please keep in mind: the ceremony will be on a hot Florida beach, and the reception is standard "adult-centered" party with an open bar and dancing. Child care is not provided.
Please park at City Island Park, 1799 Ken Thompson Pkwy, Sarasota, FL 34236, which is adjacent to the Sarasota Sailing Squadron. We will provide transportation from the Squadron to the ceremony location and back.
We will have two shuttles to transport guests from the Sarasota Sailing Squadron to the ceremony at 5:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. Individuals of mature age and families with small children will have priority on the second shuttle. Please plan accordingly. Return shuttles will transport guests from the ceremony to the Sarasota Sailing Squadron starting at 6:30 p.m. Individuals of mature age and families with small children will have priority on the first return shuttle. There will not be shuttles to/from hotels. Guests are requested to arrange their own transportation to and from the Sarasota Sailing Squadron.
We kindly ask all guests to silence and refrain from cellphone use during the wedding ceremony. We have a fabulous, professional photographer to take photos of the ceremony.
In the event of rain, we will not take the buses to the beach. Instead, we will have the ceremony under the pavilion at the Sarasota Sailing Squadron.
Your presence is the only present we could want! However, for those inclined, in lieu of registering for traditional gifts, we would be truly grateful for any financial assistance provided to make our dream of purchasing our home together a reality.
No. James and Brenna both decided to retain their current surnames.
