Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Katie Weaver and Cameron Whiteman
Out-of-towners, this one's for you. When you're not celebrating with us, San Jose has plenty to keep you busy. We've rounded up a few of our go-to local spots below. And if you're down to wander beyond San Jose and see more of the Bay, hit us up. We'll point you toward the best food, views, and vibes.
San Pedro Square Market

San Pedro Square Market

87 North San Pedro Street, San Jose, CA 95110

Hungry? Thirsty? Start at San Pedro Square Market — it’s a local favorite with indoor/outdoor seating, tons of food + drink vendors, and usually some live entertainment to set the mood. Around the corner, you’ll find plenty more spots worth a stop: District (don’t miss the deviled eggs), Dr. Funk (tiki vibes, strong pours), and classics like La Vic’s or even Taco Bell Cantina for those late-night cravings. And if you’re feeling playful, swing by San Jose Social for bowling, arcade games, karaoke, and more eats + drinks.

Chromatic Coffee Co.

Chromatic Coffee Co.

460 Lincoln Avenue, San Jose, CA 95126

Our go-to coffee spot back when we lived in San Jose. Bonus: Hapa’s Brewing Co. is right next door — so depending on the time of day, you can swap your latte for a pint.

Still O.G. & Alter Ego Cocktail Club

Still O.G. & Alter Ego Cocktail Club

66 South 1st Street, San Jose, CA 95113

One of our go-to bars on 1st Street — with a hidden speakeasy tucked in the back 👀. A few other favorites nearby: Paper Plane (cocktail heaven), 55 South (laid-back vibes), Fox Tale Fermentation Project (fuuuuunky beers) and Miniboss (arcade games + drinks = yes, please).

Zona Rosa

Zona Rosa

1411 The Alameda, San Jose, CA 95126

Don’t sleep on the salsas — seriously, try them all. This spot was one of our walk-to favorites when we lived nearby. Other gems close by: Hop & Vine (perfect for drinks + bites) and LUNA Mexican Kitchen (go for breakfast and order the Café de Olla — thank us later).

The Tech Interactive

The Tech Interactive

201 South Market Street, San Jose, CA 95113

Into museums? Check out The Tech Interactive for hands-on fun, or if you’ve got kids in tow, the Children’s Discovery Museum is a classic. A little further down by Santana Row + Valley Fair Mall (aka shopping heaven), you’ll find the Winchester Mystery House. Beware: Sarah’s ghost might just follow you home.

Almaden Quicksilver County Park

Almaden Quicksilver County Park

21785 Almaden Road, San Jose, CA 95120

We’re big fans of getting outside — and during the early COVID years, this trail was our go-to escape. Honestly, it’s still one of the best hikes in the Bay. Check out the Buena Vista Trail Loop (3.6 miles) for fresh air + killer views.
