Pauanui
A special place where Cameron often spent Christmas growing up and where we will be headquartered before and after the wedding. The town itself has a large, beautiful beach with views of Mt. Pauanui and Mt. Paku, a recreation center with activities like pickleball, golf, and putt putt, and easy access to the rest of the Coromandel. We'll be hosting a variety of pre-wedding activities for any guests arriving early. Join in on as many or as few as you'd like! Approximately 2 hour drive from Auckland
Rotorua
Visit for the natural hot springs, a skyline gondola/luge, and world class mountain biking! There are several beautiful hikes in the area as well. 2hr 40min from Auckland, 2hr 30min to Pauanui
Waitomo Caves
We visited the caves our first time in New Zealand together. You get to rappel down into a series of cave systems, zipline in the dark, cliff jump into a river, and float through glowworms that look like stars. Definitely an adventure that's worth the trip! 2hr 20min from Auckland, 2hr 40min to Pauanui
Hobbiton
Visit The Shire and its gorgeous rolling green hills! A must-do for Lord of the Rings fans. 2hr 10min from Auckland, 1hr 50 min to Pauanui
Cathedral Cove
One of the most popular sites in the Coromandel, and aptly so. There are several spots near to explore, so make sure to see more than just the main walkway! Approximately 1 hour drive from Pauanui
Hot Water Beach
A unique beach with natural heated sand pockets that create warm pools right near the waves. We recommend bringing your own shovels and showing up 2 hours before or after lowtide. Approximately 50 minute drive from Pauanui
Hidden Cove
If Cathedral Cove is a bit too busy for your liking, Hidden Cove is just down the road and offers stunning views and plenty of beach space. This is also where Cameron proposed! Approximately 50 minute drive from Pauanui
Colenso Cafe
With a cafe, gift shop, orchard and beautiful gardens, Colenso has long been a favorite of locals and visitors. Stop for some delicious coffee and food on your way to Hidden Cove to recreate the proposal day! Approximately 40 minutes drive from Pauanui
