On the first day of college orientation at Duke, Camden was looking through the class yearbook and pointed out Cam to her parents -- she thought he was cute, but said she would NEVER date someone with the same name. (For the record, Cam's friends still don't believe this actually happened!) Just two short hours later, they sat next to each other at the 'Welcome to Duke' event in the Field Hockey stadium on East Campus, and the rest is history!
Purporting to take her out for the 6th year anniversary, Cam took Camden to a waterfront restaurant in Brooklyn. He had visited the site weeks prior to speak with the staff to tell them exactly where to seat them / when to bring the bill out (which they were 5 minutes late with...). While he may have given the game away by refusing to check his coat for fear of losing the ring, the beautiful walk by the water, speech, and photographer in waiting created a magical moment. It immediately started raining after 5 minutes of pictures, but Camden and Cam are holding on to the idea that rain at the proposal brings good luck!
Camden and Cam visited the Nonantum Resort ~1 year before the wedding to celebrate with an engagement photoshoot, where it proceeded to rain (yet again!). While Camden wasn't quite dressed for the weather, they think you will agree that they turned out better than imagined and captured the feeling that they look forward to sharing with you all next year. At this point, Camden and Cam are hopeful that they have gotten all the rain out of the way, and May 24th, 2026 brings dry weather for celebration!
