Our best friends were dating, and thought they would set up their single friends! We talked for a few weeks before finally meeting each other on a double date at the Mishawaka Riverwalk. Calvin and I walked around the park as we got to know each other, and it just felt like we knew each other for a really long time. Madi's first impression of meeting Calvin: Why is he wearing a Lego shirt?! What Madi thought after the date: I want to see him again. Calvin's first impression of meeting Madi: She seems really cute and shy. What Calvin thought after the date: I really hope she wants to see me again cause she's awesome.

Probably a week after we met, Calvin asked me to be his girlfriend. I told him not yet.... he did this roughly 3 more times before I was ready to say yes. Calvin was the sweetest and most patient guy through all of this! I knew I wanted to date him, just not that fast haha!

Mishawaka Riverwalk We were celebrating our 4 year anniversary a week later. Calvin asked if I would like to go on a walk, so he drove us to the Riverwalk where we first met. We didn't get very far into our walk before we "ran into" his cousin Bethann. She said she was taking nature pictures and asked if we would like some pictures together while she was there. So we walked to the stone stairs that take you down by the river and took some pictures. After awhile Calvin asked if we could take some goofy pictures... his suggestion was to make it look like he was pushing me into the river.... so I hesitantly went along with it. When I was finally given the ok to not be in that pose anymore, I turned around and Calvin was down on one knee. I didn't even see the ring or wait for him to ask me the big question, I just immediately starting crying and hugged him. I was speechless, he was tearing up and smiling from ear to ear as he asked me to marry him. I later found out that he proposed to me in the exact spot where he first knew he was going to marry me 4 years ago!
