On the Friday night of Memorial Day weekend, Dylan was hesitant to go out. After some encouragement from friends, she headed down to the Fort Worth bar scene and entered a college favorite- Varsity Tavern. As she chatted with a group, out of the corner of her eye she spotted a tall, blonde boy who she recognized from class. "That's Calvin Dutcher!" she exclaimed and with the help of some liquid courage, casually marched into his view until he noticed her. Calvin and Dylan were introduced and their conversation sparked immediately. Dylan was especially thrilled when Calvin mentioned he too was from California and grew up near Disneyland, which she was quick to let him know just how much she loved Disney. Calvin asked Dylan on a date right then and there and so began a lifetime of adventures.

It was the end of a workweek for Dylan in California and to wrap up her trip, she went out to dinner with her parents before leaving the next day. Dylan's mom, Heidi, told her there was one more exciting thing to do before Dylan's flight back- a Bachelor TV cast event! Heidi said she found out about a secret filming taking place on a beach in Malibu and Bachelor fan favorites like Peter, Tyler, Jade and Tanner, and potentially even Colton and Cassie would be in attendance, so Dylan couldn't say no. Conveniently, Heidi had spent the last few days shopping for new clothes for Dylan just in case they were spotted on TV or took Instagram worthy pictures. Early Saturday morning, Dylan got dressed to meet her favorite reality TV stars. On their way to the beach, Dylan and Heidi even passed the Bachelor Mansion. Dylan couldn't contain her excitement so she sent a text to Calvin "Guess what I'm doing this morning?!". When they arrived at the small beach, Heidi asked Dylan to get out of the car to check and make sure they were at the right beach before paying for parking. As she crept down to the beach, she believed to see a film crew and paparazzi because of all the photographers. Dylan was in the midst of searching for the large crowd when Calvin called her. He mentioned he had visited El Matador State Beach before and knew that to see the full beach, she had to walk down the treacherous rocky path and stairs. Dylan, resistant to leave her mom in the car, told Calvin she would wait before walking down. When Heidi came up with an excuse for Dylan to walk by herself, Dylan started to get frustrated. Knowing that she wouldn't go down the stairs to the sand, Calvin called again to guide Dylan down to the beach. Finally, as Dylan peered down to the beach, there stood her very own Bachelor waiting for her. Cal had flown across the country to propose to her. After enjoying their special moment on the beach, he whisked her away to the Terranea Resort for a great day together.
