FAQs

The Wedding Website of Avery Calnen and Aaron Ellis
If you have questions or something comes up besides what we have listed here, please reach out to the Bride, Avery (231) 838-6466, or the Groom, Aaron (231) 881-8756. The sooner we know, the better we might be able to accommodate you.
Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

June 1st, 2026. 06/01/2026

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

If you find your invitation is lacking a plus one, don't hesitate to get in touch with either the bride or the groom - we are trying to keep track of hundreds of people - it could simply be a mistake!

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Children, on invitation, are welcome. If I missed your kids, please let me know so I can plan the appropriate head count rather than just bringing your children. Thank you.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Summer Cocktail Attire We’d simply like you to look your best. *purely a recommendation, not a requirement* ~DO wear floral patterns ~women avoid green ~men avoid gray

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

1:30 pm is safe; you'll have plenty of time to be seated by 1:55 pm. We are sorry... the church parking lot is small. Located downtown, you'll want to arrive in Petoskey with time to find an elusive parking spot, and likely, there will be a short walk to the church. Summer traffic is heavy, and parking will be limited. We recommend grabbing a bite downtown before the ceremony. Just don't forget to feed the meter!

Question

Is there a better parking situation at the reception?

Answer

Yes - there is a large gravel/dirt parking lot with room for all of us! PSA: Youngsters, park in the back, please. That way, we can save some of the closest spaces for the elders.

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Dishes will be labeled with common allergens. The Bride has celiac disease, so most dishes will be naturally gluten-free. Guests will be dismissed to fill their own plates, buffet style. Individuals will be responsible for their own food allergies or dietary restrictions. There will be plenty of options available.

Question

Will there be non-alcoholic drink options?

Answer

Yes! Besides water (hydration keeps us young people), options will include lemonade, an assortment of pop, coffee, and N/A beer. Bryan’s (Avery’s Dad) favorite N/A is Heineken 0.0 (there will be plenty of this specific brand available). If you’d like to request something specific, please let us know.

Question

Are there any other events that I should know about around the wedding?

Answer

Check out Charlevoix's Venetian Festival! https://venetianfestival.com/
