Question

Should I come early or stay late?

Answer

Yes! Make it a vacation. See our "Things to Do" page for an excelsheet of all of our favorite places to go, things to see and do in New Orleans organized by neighborhood

Question

What about my kids?

Answer

Neither New Orleans, events of the wedding weekend, nor the wedding venue (antiques, stairs, railings, flowing alcohol) are the most kid friendly. We recommend your leave your children with grandma/grandpa for the weekend and come enjoy a great adult time. We are requesting that there be no children (apart from our ring bearer and flower girl) at the ceremony. If you do need to bring your child you or a member of your group are welcome to wait with them in the Beauregard Keyes House during the ceremony.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

We're going for semi-formal/cocktail style. For men: dress shirt with or without tie, with or without jacket, with or without suit. For ladies: between casual and formal. Shoes: pick something comfortable so you can enjoy the second line. Keep in mind, New Orleans can be in the 80s and HOT in October and can cool down in the evenings.

Question

What is a Second Line Parade?

Answer

A New Orleans tradition in any celebration (weddings, funerals, sports victories, major events). A brass band leads the way through the streets of the French Quarter followed by the "First Line" (those being honored, like the bride and the groom). Followed by the "Second Line" (in this case the wedding guests and anyone who happens to be on the sidewalk along the route who wants to join in!). Your job is to dance in the street and wave your handkerchief! Our second line will take place at the end of the reception and we will "second line" to our after party location--Pat O'Briens (which is also 1 block from the wedding hotel if you choose to end your evening after the parade).

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

No additional guests unless otherwise indicated

Question

Are they any extra precautions for safety I should take in New Orleans?

Answer

New Orleans is a city and the crime rate is reflective of that. We have never encountered any problems, likely because Ryan is so savvy. Explore at your leisure during daytime hours. Stick to populated streets after dark and traveling in a group, even in the French Quarter. Nothing good ever happens after midnight! Specific areas of the city to avoid include the 7th Ward, 9th Ward, Central City, and +/- the Treme.

Question

How do I RSVP?

Answer

RSVPs on our webpage only RSVP tab > Enter your name > RSVP for yourself and each member of your party

Question

Should I go to Bourbon Street?

Answer

Bourbon Street is iconic, but is not what it used to be. Get your hurricane from Pat O's at our after party. Get your hand grenade from Tropical Isle. Get your picture with the guy with the Huge Ass Beers sign. Then head over to Frenchman Street where the good music and nightlife has traveled to.

Question
