Lime Kiln Point State Park
This state park has a beautiful lookout point, a lighthouse, and picnic tables. A small fee (or PNW Discovery Pass) is requested for parking. It's one of the best places in the world to spot orca whales from land!

Visit a local oyster farm! Saturday 12-3pm for takeaway sales only (and the view!)
Pelindaba Lavender Farm
Stop and smell the local flora at this modern-day lavender farm. It'll be a little early for full bloom, but you can explore the fields and peruse their shop of local lavender products.
San Juan Vineyard
Kick back and relax or bring your own picnic and taste a flight of local wines at this San Juan landmark. Open Friday-Sunday 11am-5pm.
Krystal Acres Alpaca Farm
Seriously. Wander this farm of adorable alpacas and let us know if you see the camel.
Sea Quest Kayak Tours
Several companies offer sea kayaking out of Friday Harbor as another chance to catch a glimpse of our beloved local orcas. It's a little early in the season, but you could get lucky! Even if you don't, get ready for some gorgeous sea photo opps.
San Juan Excursions Whale & Wildlife Tours
Several companies offer whale watching tours from Friday Harbor. Look for orcas, as well as bald eagles and seals!
Organ Concert and Historical Lecture
Wander over to Rosario Resort and Spa at Orcas Island for a free organ concert at 4pm on Saturday, accompanied by a talk from a local historian. (Plan ahead for the ferry and time to travel to Rosario)

It's a short day trip to a nearby island, especially if you avoid taking your car on the ferry (walk-on, rent a bicycle or take an island taxi). Explore hikes, viewpoints, spas, and quaint Eastsound on Orcas, bike to a winery on flat Lopez, or walk the beaches on Shaw.
