Our venue, Palazzo Pfanner, lies in the historical center of Lucca, a UNESCO world heritage site, just 30 minutes away from the famous Pisa and the world heritage Leaning Tower. There are countless other spots that we would highly recommend for a visit including Siena, Montalcino, Monteriggioni, The spectacular Val d’Orcia, San Gimignano, the Chianti region, Arezzo, Cortona, Livorno, Fort dei Marmi and of course Florence. Below is some information on these locations, as well as some recommendations for food and activities inside the walls of Lucca! If you would like to arrange an itinerary or ask for assistance, our wedding planner Elia and his staff can help to arrange wine tours, wine tastings or city tours. Palazzo Pfanner

Palazzo Pfanner is located inside the walls of Old Town Lucca, and will be the venue for both the ceremony and the reception.

Bike rentals are a great way to explore the cobblestone streets and renaissance walls of Lucca! We highly recommend renting a bike for the day and riding around the top of the walls. There are plenty of places to stop for photo ops and to take in the beautiful views of the Tuscan countryside!

Chiesa di San Michele in Foro

Piazza San Michele (or Saint Michael's Square) is a beautiful open square almost directly in the center of Old Lucca. The highlight of the square is the church of San Michele in Forno. The facade of the church, built in the 13th century, features a large series of sculptures and inlays (see the photos page for a beautiful picture of the church taken by Calli's dad, Mark). The square often hosts fun events such as musical performances and wine tastings, of which we will keep you updated!

Piazza dell'Anfiteatro

The Piazza dell'Anfiteatro is a public square that was built around the remains of a 2nd century Roman amphitheatre. This square is a great place to find shops, cafes, and plenty of history!

Lucca has many options when it comes to delicious food, including 6 Michelin Starred restaurants. A favorite spot for handmade pasta and local dishes is Buca di Sant'Antonio. Located just off of St. Michael's Square, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu! Due to popularity, we would recommend making a reservation.
