The Summer of 2015 was a pretty good! When Cassidy arrived in Bethel in June of 2015, he was assigned to the Wyckoff, NJ, congregation. Little did he know that a girl he met at his first meeting would change his life forever. Alexis grew up in the Wyckoff, NJ, congregation, where her family had been for over 20 years. She and Cassidy became friends, and there was subtle interest on both sides. However, neither of them acknowledged it, knowing it wasn't the right time due to their spiritual goals. Jehovah blessed that decision. Cassidy has been serving at Bethel for nearly 10 years. Over that period, he has worked in the Cleaning Department, Night Crew, Laundry Department, and most recently, the Travel Department. After about a year and a half in the same congregation, Cassidy was assigned to serve at Brooklyn Bethel, later relocating back to Warwick Bethel in 2017. In 2016, Alexis reached her goal of becoming a regular pioneer—but that was just the beginning of her journey. She and her family moved to a Tagalog-speaking congregation, where she continued to pioneer for six years. Additionally, she served with various LDC crews, participated in DRC in Florida, and has been commuting to Bethel for almost two years. For a while, it seemed like the connection between them was lost. But in May 2023, Alexis began commuting to Warwick, and soon, they bumped into each other. Cassidy noticed her but assumed she wasn’t interested. Alexis noticed him too but thought he wasn’t interested either. Monday Night Watchtower: A few months after they reconnected, Cassidy and his roommate invited some friends over after the Bethel Family Watchtower Study, and Cassidy decided to invite Alexis. In the following months, invitations were exchanged back and forth—though Cassidy, unfortunately, declined most, citing that he was "busy" (a decision he now regrets). Eventually, after successfully spending time together and talking more, they discovered they had a lot in common. They also realized that there was something more than just friendship. A meetup at a bookstore was arranged, and… the rest is history.
