When Covid hit, Caleb was forced to come home from his college town to finish his studies from his hometown. As the world was shutting down, little did we know that we were gearing up to find love. With little to do, lots of uncertainty, and hanging in isolation, we separately found ourselves swiping on the coveted dating app – Tinder. Kelsey, knowing she surely wouldn’t find love there, couldn’t seem to keep the app downloaded. After five repetitions for Kelsey of downloading, swiping, matching, and deleting, Caleb either caught a hint or got tired of the same notification. As you may or may not know, Caleb is a simple man of only a few words. His message simply read, “Add my Snap,” and Kelsey couldn’t help but fall for his “charm.”

A casual morning for an unsuspecting Kelsey was filled with conversation and questions from her soon-to-be sister in-law, Chey. Bopping around the Farmer’s Market kept Chey calm and collected and she slipped in a few questions about Kelsey’s nails and asked if they could go to the overlook at Raven’s Roost to get photos before a day at Bold Rock. Of course, Kelsey didn’t catch on that by the time they reached Nelson 151, they would be celebrating. After a few outfit changes, a supportive Chey got Kelsey out the door, letting her know that she looked great. Kelsey remained unsuspecting despite realizing her and Caleb’s best friends were tailing them on the parkway and a car that looked suspiciously like Caleb’s mom’s was parked at the overlook. Impatiently trying to get to the tastes of fresh apple cider, Kelsey was ready to snap some photos and be on their merry way. She made her way across the rocks, avoiding what she thought was the set-up for a wedding, while Caleb diverged in that direction. The man of few words said, “Come over here, Kels,” and well, it hit her like a tidal wave. She couldn’t help herself as she turned to Chey, Zach, Emily and Fix, and said, “Guys, am I getting engaged?” Finally, with the picturesque backdrop of the Blue Ridge Mountains on a hazy day, Caleb was the one with a question. Kelsey obviously answered with a “hurry up and put that ring on my finger,” while some of the other most important people in their lives, Kelsey's mom and best friend Mikalyn, popped out from the bushes and celebrated that they all somehow managed to keep a secret from Kelsey.
