Two are better than one

In the warm summer of July 2024, a single Facebook connection quietly set destiny in motion. Jamarris and Caleaya didn’t know it at the time, but when they finally swiped right, their lives were about to change forever. Their first date was an escape room, fitting, really, for two people about to unlock something extraordinary. That night, Jamarris called her after the date and stayed on the phone with her the entire drive home. It was sweet, thoughtful, and the beginning of a bond that would grow deeper by the day. Every minute has been a thread in the fabric of their connection, sewn with honesty, laughter, late-night talks, and prayers. From the start, Jamarris made his heart known, writing poetry just for her, calling her beautiful in every way, and cherishing her presence. And while Caleaya once playfully claimed she couldn’t cook—a harmless little fib, she now confesses—it was really just a test to see if he loved her for her. Jamarris, ever the romantic, simply smiled and said he’d teach her, that it didn’t matter. Little did he know, she had a few tricks up her sleeve. When she surprised him with a personal Thanksgiving dinner made from scratch, his heart—and his plate—were full. From that moment on, he knew she was the recipe he never knew he needed. Their love grew effortlessly, full of intention and faith. They spent real time building something lasting—connecting over shared values, quality time, and meaningful conversations. Their first trip together was to Greenville, SC where their conversations turned toward the future. They dreamed aloud about marriage, about becoming husband and wife, and about how they would love each other with gentleness, grace, and strength. They talked about what it truly means to be partners for life and knew, without question, they were each other’s answered prayer. In January, Jamarris officially introduced Caleaya to his son. They bonded over Beyblades and anime, laughter echoing through the room like music. It wasn’t long before that bond grew into love, a beautiful reflection of the family they were already becoming. Together, they found strength and purpose in their faith, sharing family Bible studies that brought them even closer, grounding their relationship in God’s word and grace. Then, in March 2025, in a garden blooming with Virginia roses at the historic Governor’s Palace in Williamsburg, Jamarris got down on one knee and asked Caleaya to be his forever. She said yes with her whole heart.
