Travel

Thanks for traveling to San Francisco, we appreciate it. We recommend staying in the Mission District, North Beach or the Haight if you want to be in the middle of the action and city culture. If not, we recommend quieter neighborhoods like the Richmond, Sunset, Forest Hill, Twin Peaks, or Daly City. We recommend avoiding neighborhoods like SOMA, Tenderloin, Union Square or Fisherman's Wharf area. There's a multitude of hotels and Airbnbs with a quick internet search.

Hotel

Seal Rock Inn

545 Point Lobos Avenue
San Francisco, CA 94121
 (415) 752-8000

In the lovely and quiet Richmond District, right on the coast, with plenty of beauty surrounding you. This neighborhood is known for its beautiful parks and walks, beaches and Russian and Chinese cuisine with it's high numbers of immigrants settling in the area. Sutro Baths, Sutro Heights Park, Land's End and Baker Beach are all within walking distance. Feel removed from the city, but still have access to everything you might want.

Hotel

Phoenix Hotel

601 Eddy Street
San Francisco, CA 94109
 (415) 776-1380

This is where we'll be staying. It's a mid century modern hotel with a long legacy of rock 'n roll. While the hotel is an oasis, the neighborhood might be rough for you, with housing insecure people with mental health issues abound. We've never had a problem, but it might be off-putting for you if you're new to San Francisco.

San Francisco, CA 94110

The Mission District is the hipster neighborhood in San Francisco, with a rich Latino/predominantly Mexican history and culture. The City's best Mexican food and coolest bars/clubs are found in this neighborhood. It's quite urban and lively. We love 24th Street taquerias, murals and sights. It's about as authentic as you can get in San Francisco. Bernal Heights nearby provides 360 degrees views of the city/bay and is quite a lovely walk.
