FAQs

Question

What day should I arrive?

Answer

We recommend arriving in the early afternoon of June 10th. Of course, you are welcome to come earlier, and any extra nights booked at Villa Scacciapensieri can be booked through their website.

Question

How can I book a room at Villa Scacciapensieri?

Answer

For the nights of June 10th and June 11, please contact the bride (480-213-7066 or michaelchuckwedding@gmail.com). If you wish to extend your trip, please book directly through the hotel's website.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Yes! The attire for the Wedding is 'Garden Party Cocktail Attire', and the theme for the Welcome Party is 'Italian Summer'. See the 'Attire' tab for further details.

Question

How do I RSVP for the wedding events?

Answer

All guests will be able to RSVP for the wedding events via this website upon receiving their invitation or save-the-date. If you already know you will be attending, you are welcome to submit your RSVP in advance.

Question

When is the RSVP deadline?

Answer

We will be sending our formal invitations in late 2025, with a RSVP deadline of January 11, 2026.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Unfortunately, no. We will only be able to accommodate those listed on your save-the-dates and formal invitations. If your invitations says '& Guest' then we invite you to bring a date.

Question

What is the weather like in Siena?

Answer

In early June, Siena typically experiences warm, sunny weather with average temperatures ranging from 64°F to 82°F. It's generally a dry month, though some rain is possible.

Question

What currency is used in Italy? Should we be tipping?

Answer

The currency used in Italy is the Euro (EUR). While tipping is not as prevalent as in the United States, it's generally okay to leave a small tip (1-2 euros) in restaurants or round up the bill as a gesture of appreciation for good service. In some cases, like with taxi drivers or tour guides, a tip may be more appropriate, especially for excellent service or if they go above and beyond.

Question

Can I take photos and videos during the ceremony?

Answer

We kindly ask that you do not have your phones or cameras out during the ceremony. Our photographer and videographer will be capturing the ceremony, thank you for understanding.

Question

Will I need a passport?

Answer

Yes. Please refer to the top of the 'Travel' page for details.

Question

When and how do you recommend I book my flights?

Answer

Most airlines typically book 11 - 12 months out from the date of departure. If you are using credit cards points, we recommend booking as soon as the date opens up. If you are purchasing your flights, the best ticket prices are typically about 6 months out. We recommend searching for flights using Google Flights - simple and easy! For further questions on booking flights, please feel free to reach out to either the bride (phone: 480-213-7066), or the mother of the bride (Charlene Dickman: 480-600-6190).

Question

Is the ceremony outside?

Answer

Yes, weather permitting, the ceremony, the apertif, the dinner, and the reception will all be outside on the ground of Castello Di Celsa. Please note, the grounds are primarily grass, gravel, and cobblestone.

Question

Do I need a converter to use my electronics?

Answer

The Type C plug is a standard two-prong European plug, and it will allow you to use your devices in Italian outlets. While most US devices can handle the 230V voltage, it's always a good idea to check your devices' specifications. If your device only accepts 110V, you may need a voltage converter in addition to the adapter.

Question

How do I convert my USD to Euros?

Answer

We don't recommend exchanging a stack of cash at the airport, as the fees are astronomical. The easiest way is to use the ATM, but do NOT accept the ATMs conversion rate, your local bank will do that for you at a much more reasonable conversion.
