Question

How do I RSVP? When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Click on the "RSVP" tab on our wedding website to submit your response. You’ll be asked to RSVP for both the Welcome Party and the Wedding. The "RSVP" tab will become available in mid-May. We kindly ask that you respond by July 11th so we can finalize our plans. Need help RSVPing? If you're having trouble accessing the RSVP through the website, feel free to reach out directly to Noah or Caitlyn with your attendance details, and we’ll happily record your response.

Question

What is the dress code for the wedding?

Answer

For this elevated celebration, we kindly request guests to wear black-tie attire. Tuxedos (preferred) or dark formal suits with ties are welcome, as well as evening gowns (preferred), formal midi dresses, or elegant jumpsuits. We do ask that you refrain from wearing jeans, shorts, t-shirts, sneakers, flip-flops, casual button-down shirts, polo shirts, casual dresses, or sundresses. We appreciate your elegance and look forward to celebrating with you!

Question

What is the theme of the wedding?

Answer

Gilded Gallery: A Celebration Framed in Timeless Elegance Our wedding theme draws inspiration from the historic grandeur of our venue, a masterpiece built in the Gilded Age, accented by personal touches of fine art décor. Black-tie attire is requested to complement the elegance of the evening. However, guests who enjoy embracing a theme are encouraged to select attire that reflects the spirit of elegant fabrics, refined details, and timeless silhouettes that capture your vision of gilded grandeur. Participation is optional but encouraged for those who enjoy dressing to a "theme!"

Question

What is the dress code for the welcome party?

Answer

For our welcome party, we kindly request guests to wear relaxed cocktail attire. Appropriate options include button-down shirts (sport coats optional), khakis or dress pants, cocktail dresses, midi dresses, or dressy jumpsuits. We do ask that you refrain from wearing jeans, shorts, t-shirts, sneakers, flip-flops, casual button-down shirts, polo shirts, casual dresses, or sundresses, as the event will be held in a cocktail lounge-style setting.

Question

Will the wedding take place indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The ceremony will be held outdoors, weather permitting. The cocktail hour will be available both inside the venue's catacombs as well as outdoors in the garden courtyard. The reception, including dinner and dancing, will take place indoors.

Question

Are children invited?

Answer

While we love your little ones, this will be an adults-only celebration. Thank you for making arrangements for childcare so you can fully enjoy the day with us.

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

Due to limited space, we are unable to accommodate plus ones at our wedding. Please RSVP with only those listed on your invitation.

Question

Where should guests park?

Answer

The closest parking garage is East King Street Garage located across the street from Excelsior at 150 East King Street. There is also parking one block west in the Penn Square Garage for both the public and Marriott guests.

Question

What is the Excelsior?

Answer

Our venue, originally known as "the Sprenger Brewery," was built between 1852 and 1873 and has a rich history. It was initially designed as an events hall for people to gather and connect. In 1905, it was transformed into a furniture store, which operated until 1978. The building remained vacant for nearly 40 years before being beautifully restored in 2015 into a modern, 21st-century events hall. Located within walking distance of downtown Lancaster, we absolutely love this industrial-chic space and are thrilled to celebrate our big day here with YOU!

Question

Can guests take pictures during the wedding?

Answer

We kindly ask that guests do not take photos during the ceremony. Our media team will be capturing all the important moments, and we'll be happy to share those with you afterward. However, feel free to take as many photos as you like during the cocktail hour and reception! Please note: during cocktail hour, our photographer will have a portrait studio set up for guests who’d like a professional photo taken! Stop by for a keepsake shot — we’d love for everyone to be part of the memories.

Question

What time should guests arrive at the venue?

Answer

We request that all guests arrive between 3:30pm and 3:45pm, as the ceremony will begin promptly at 4:00pm.
