Justin and Caitlyn met through mutual friends, Mariah and Travis a couple of years before they started dating. However, Justin and Caitlyn weren't close with each other...yet. On Caitlyn's 24th birthday they went to Maryland (separately) to hang out with these friends and celebrate. Another friend Zach told Caitlyn that Justin may be into her and Caitlyn should spend some time with him. Shenanigans transpired and Zach attempted to be the wingman for Justin while everyone was out celebrating in Baltimore. I guess you could say that he was successful. After that weekend in Maryland Justin went back to Harrisburg and Caitlyn went back to graduate school in Pittsburgh. Caitlyn kept in touch with Justin through Facebook chats, which then led to text messages, phone conversations, and finally a visit to Pittsburgh. They decided to start a relationship and on May 2nd, 2015 they went on their first official date and officially became boyfriend and girlfriend. The first year was long distance (about 3 and a half hours) and was challenging at times, but they made it through and are now ready to take the next step and say "I do."

Caitlyn has been a part of a community theater organization, Tohoshi Productions: Arts and Athletics Club, for the past 10+ years where one of her good high school friends is the director and writer of original productions. Justin (and his family) has not missed a single play since they have started dating and knows how much this organization means to her. On the night of her tenth show performing with this organization there was a scene that involved her cast members singing a song to cheer up Caitlyn's character. After the song ended, Justin walked up from the audience, got down on one knee, and asked Caitlyn to marry him. To top it off, only 2 people in the cast knew so all of her cast members' reactions and expressions were genuine and they were just as surprised as she was. The proposal was better than she could have even imagined! Now they both cannot wait to tie the knot with all of their family and friends there to celebrate.
