They met the way all timeless romances begin: on Bumble, where Carlos had the honor of waiting patiently for Caitlyn to make the first move (rules are rules). For Caitlyn it was a cold December night and she was doing her usual swiping on Bumble, when she came across an animal loving, Jit-jitsu rolling, hunk of a man! Could it be possible for a man to have all three traits she looked for in a partner? Empathetic, athletic and good-looks, oh my! After a few clever messages and a very thorough vetting of each other’s photos, they decided to meet in person. Carlos was running late that night (classic), and by the time Caitlyn arrived, the bar was already shut for the night. She texted him and waited on the corner of a quiet street in Downtown Raleigh. A few minutes later, she watched as Carlos ran right past her—straight to the locked door. Realizing the place was closed, he finally looked up and spotted Caitlyn smiling at him from the corner. He walked over sheepishly, and they laughed as they picked a new spot across the street. One drink led to another, and soon they found themselves playing pool (Caitlyn won, of course). From that first date on, it was clear they were onto something. There were hikes, deep talks, shared snacks, meeting of Teddy (the ultimate test exercise), and a growing realization that they had found their person. Now here they are—off the apps, in love, and about to throw one amazing wedding. They can’t wait to celebrate with you!
