What is the dress code?

Answer

Black-tie optional. If you've got a tux or gown in your closet that you've been dying to wear, we'd love to see it! Suits and ties and cocktail dresses are also totally appropriate.

Are children invited?

Answer

Your children are welcome at our wedding, but we know travelling with little ones and having them at Mass and a reception can bring its own set of challenges. If you'd like to make it as adults-only weekend, go for it!

What are the transportation options for Saturday?

Answer

We are getting married at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart on campus at Notre Dame. The Basilica runs on a tight schedule on Saturdays, so please plan to be seated no later than 12:45 pm. Shuttles will depart from the Hilton Garden Inn and The Inn at St. Mary’s promptly at 12:30 pm. If you are driving to campus, you must enter through the Main Gate near the Bookstore. Tell the guard that you are attending a wedding at the Basilica, and they will direct you to the Grotto parking lot. We suggest planning for 10 minutes to navigate from the gate to the parking lot and from the parking lot to the Basilica. After the ceremony, please proceed to the steps of the Main Building (the Golden Dome) for a group photo. You can use the doors under the stairs to wait inside the building. Between the ceremony and the reception, feel free to explore campus! Campus is quiet this weekend due to reading days (final exams for students start on Monday), but you can still visit the Dome, the Grotto, Touchdown Jesus, the Bookstore, and more! The shuttles will continue to run until 5:30 pm from the same location as drop-off.
