The Naval Academy campus, referred to as "The Yard", is beautiful and walkable from downtown. We recommend you take a walk through the yard if you have time! Visitors can walk through Gate 1 off of King George Street after showing their driver's license to the gate guards. We recommend seeing Memorial Hall (accessible through T-Court), Stribling Walk, the crypt of John Paul Jones, and Dahlgren Hall. No worries if you don't have time to see the yard on your own, our ceremony is taking place at the Naval Academy Chapel!
Annapolis is Maryland's capital but still has a small town feel. It also happens to be the sailing capital of the U.S! We recommend taking a stroll down Main Street where there are plenty of local busineses, restaurants, and a plethora of ice cream shops to check out. The bottom of Main Street will spit you out at "Ego Alley" a narrow part of the harbor where million dollar yachts and sailboats are often seen.
The William Paca House was built in the 1760's by William Paca, one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence and Maryland's third state governor. The William Paca House is open daily for guided tours of the house and self-guided tours of the garden. We did our engagement photos there and can attest to its natural beauty!
