Nate and Caitlin met during medical school in Cleveland. Caitlin thought Nate was kind of a weirdo, and Nate agreed. They didn't start talking much until their 4th year of school. Nate asked for her number under the pretenses of getting her input on his website (natechertack.com, still operational!). With nothing to lose except his dignity, he asked her out for drinks via text and after agonizing minutes of waiting, she responded with the words every guy wants to hear..."sure." The next few months were spent hanging out, communicating via text while each was away on interviews, and arguing whether or not "facies" is a medical word. But with Nate moving to Dallas for residency and Caitlin staying in Cleveland, they decided to part ways amicably after graduation. Nate said goodbye, assuming he would never see Caitlin again... However, both started residency and something felt off. Was it the stress of being an intern? Or was it the relationship they formerly shared? With only one way to find out, Nate stopped in Cleveland to ask Caitlin for another try (picture John Cusack with a boombox, but way cooler). Caitlin was secretly glad she didn't have to fly to Dallas with a boombox. Caitlin once again said "sure," it's not like they'd have to survive a long-distance relationship in the middle of a worldwide pandemic or anything... Well, after almost 6 long years, numerous expensive flights, and one worldwide pandemic, Caitlin and Nate are finally tying the knot in Chautauqua, NY. Because the only thing more romantic than "I do?" - "Sure."
