One of our favorite ice creams places on the Cape! They also have locations in Hyannis and Dennis. Some other fan favorite ice cream places include the Sundae School in Dennis Port, the Ice Cream Smuggler in East Dennis, and Schoolhouse Ice Cream in Harwich Port. If you are looking for a dairy-free or vegan option, Sweet Izzy offers both in Harwich Port.
Main Street Hyannis is a fun place to go if you are looking to shop, dine, or take a stroll. This is the address for one of the free parking lots, but there is also parking along the street and another free parking lot further down North Street.
The Cape Cod Rail Trail (CCRT) is a paved bikeway that runs 25 miles from South Dennis to Wellfleet. The terrain is relatively flat and it offers a nice tour of the scenery and natural landscapes across the Cape. We included the location of one of the free parking lots with access to the trail, but there are many parking lots along the trail to choose from. If you want to rent a bike or need any bike accessories, check out Bike Zone in Hyannis or South Yarmouth; Dennis Cycle Center in South Dennis; Barb's Bike Shop in South Dennis; or Orleans Cycle in Orleans.
There are many great beaches to choose from on the Cape. Some are for residents only, but many are open to the public with a daily or weekly pass that you can purchase. We have included the link for a guide to the Cape Cod Beaches that outlines the different beaches in each town. At the beginning of the article, there is also a link you can click on for more information about beach stickers and parking fees for each town.
Skull Island is one of many mini golf places on the Cape. They also offer a golf driving range, arcade, and go-karts. We have been working our way through every mini golf place on the Cape so let us know if you need a recommendation! A few other fun mini-golf places we have been to include Pirate's Cove Adventure Golf, Wild Animal Lagoon, Holiday Hill Mini Golf, and Putter's Paradise Mini Golf. They're all located along Route 28. If you want more family-friendly locations, there is also the Whydah Pirate Museum and Cape Cod Inflatable Park in the same area!
Cape Cod Waterways offers a variety of boat rentals on Swan River and Bass River. If you are interested in paddle boarding, kayaking, or canoeing check out their website. Another option for boat rentals is Bass River Kayaks and Paddle Boards in West Dennis, which offers multi-day rentals and off-site rentals.
This one is still on our bucket list for things to do on the Cape! Cape Cod Central Railroad offers scenic train rides across the Cape. They are located in the Buzzards Bay and Hyannis train stations. They also offer brunch, lunch, and dinner train rides you can explore. It's another fun way to take a tour of all that the Cape has to offer.

Hyannis Whale Watcher Cruises offer 3.5-4 hour trips out of Barnstable Harbor with 3 outside viewing decks to look from. If you are making your way down Cape Cod, you can also book a whale watching trip through the Whale Watch Dolphin Fleet in Provincetown.
