Calli and Mark are second cousins. Calli and Caitlin met when she came to live with Mark's parents 2 years ago. Caitlin and Calli instantly formed a friendship and she is closer to Caitlin now than she is to Mark even though they are related.

Mark met Nick on an annual Rubicon Jeeping trip 3 years ago. They bonded over off-roading and modifying their jeeps and their friendship has grown from there.

Mark met Luke when he became one of Caitlin's roommates during PA school. Mark was hesitant about him at first with him being Caitlin's roommate, but then he saw he had a Jeep and knew he was a cool guy. The friendship grew and there were times when Mark would hang out more with Luke than Caitlin when he visited.

Allen is Mark's brother-in-law. Not only are they family but they share a love of good BBQ and Allen is the grill master.
