Travel Note
Asheville is served by the Asheville Regional Airport (AVL). There are many non-stop flights from Midwestern and Southeastern cities. American Airlines offers many routes with connections. Please plan for a full 2 hours to get through bag-check and security on your way home. Asheville is a popular tourist destination, and security lines are either empty or packed. Uber and Lyft are available in Asheville, but sometimes sparse. If you choose to use a ride share to get to and from the wedding, we strongly encourage reserving your rides in advance. Rental cars are also available at the Asheville airport. We will determine 6 weeks prior to the event if a hotel shuttle will be offered (please see FAQ for more details). We have a hotel block reserved at a nearby hotel, please see the next section on this page for a link to book at our rate. There are also many AirBnB and VRBO rentals in Asheville. Remember that Asheville is in the Appalachian Mountains, so drive times can be longer than they appear on a map "as the crow flies". We recommend West Asheville and the River Arts District as areas of the city to stay in. They offer character, good restaurants, and nightlife.
