Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Kevin Thomas and Caitlin Bryant
Here are a few of our favorite places to explore while in town. We hope you enjoy them as much as we do! Listed below are restaurants followed by places of interest to visit.

Tico's Tacos

901 South Main Street, Salinas, CA 93901

One of Caitlin and Kevin's must eat places when they visit the Monterey Peninsula! You really can't go wrong with most of the options, but Caitlin's classic order is a #1 with cheese enchilada and ground beef taco.

Growers Pub

227 Monterey Street, Salinas, CA 93901

1940s nostalgic restaurant with delicious prime rib dinners.

Monterey's Fish House

2114 Del Monte Avenue, Monterey, CA 93940

Another one of Caitlin's must eats when she is back home! Fresh seafood, homemade pasta, fresh local produce (get a grilled artichoke as an appetizer) and a specials list that is usually longer than the actual menu. Make sure you make a reservation if you want to try this local gem!

Nepenthe

48510 California 1, Big Sur, CA 93920

If you are taking a lovely drive down Highway 1 and then needing sustenance with a view, this is your spot. Nepenthe is perched 800 feet above the ocean with some of the most spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean, which you can enjoy while drinking a delicious cocktail and chowing down on their famous Ambrosia Burger.

Vivolo's Chowder House

127 Central Avenue, Pacific Grove, CA 93950

The owner is originally from the East Coast and has brought his New England Clam Chowder recipe to the Monterey Peninsula. Voted best clam chowder for numerous years, Caitlin thinks this chowder is better than any that she has tried in Massachusetts. Great place to get lunch if you are going to the Monterey Aquarium as it is 3 blocks away!

Gusto Handcrafted Pasta & Pizza

1901 Fremont Boulevard, Seaside, CA 93955

One of Kevin's favorites! Delicious authentic Italian cuisine with fresh pasta, homemade pizza, and local produce.

Rio Grill

139 Crossroads Boulevard, Carmel-by-the-Sea, CA 93923

Voted one of the 10 best restaurants in Carmel, this restaurant was a go to spot for the Bryant family for celebrations and hosting guests.

In-N-Out Burger

1350 Del Monte Boulevard, Seaside, CA 93955

Does it even have to be mentioned? YES! Typically Caitlin's first stop when landing in California, In-N-Out is a must if you haven't tried it before. (And if you are looking for a little spice with your burger, ask for chopped chilis!)

Monterey Bay Aquarium

886 Cannery Row, Monterey, CA 93940

An absolute must if visiting the Monterey Peninsula! Sea otters, 65 foot living kelp forest, and fascinating jellyfish exhibits, it is no wonder it is in the top 10 best aquariums of the world!!

17 Mile Drive

17 Mile Drive, Del Monte Forest, CA

Take a beautiful drive around Pebble Beach on 17 Mile Drive where you can see some of the most amazing golf courses in the world, the iconic Lone Cyprus, and even some of Caitlin's past homes (she lived in 3 different homes around Pebble Beach including one next to the Pebble Beach Lodge and one where her neighbor was Alan Shepard!)

Cannery Row

Cannery Row, Monterey, CA 93940

Previously known for housing sardine factories, Cannery Row now boasts shops, restaurants, and beautiful ocean views.

Carmel-by-the-Sea

Carmel-by-the-Sea, CA 93921

Only one square mile, this charming, idyllic coastal town has cute shops, delicious restaurants and some of the best beaches in Central California!

Carmel Mission Basilica Museum

3080 Rio Road, Carmel-by-the-Sea, CA 93921

Founded in the late 1700s by Father Junipero Sera, this mission is one of the most authentically restored of the Catholic missions throughout California. Additionally, it is the first of only 3 missions built out of stone (the rest are adobe) and houses California's first library as well as the oldest bible in California.

Point Lobos State Natural Reserve

Carmel-by-the-Sea, CA 93923

One of the most beautiful California State Parks, Point Lobos has breathtaking views, hiking trails, and two marine protected sanctuaries.

Garrapata State Park

34500 California 1, Carmel-by-the-Sea, CA 93923

If you were envious of the views from Caitlin and Kevin's engagement photos, this is where they took them! Absolutely stunning ocean views with fantastic coastal hiking trails. Trails lead from the ocean all the way up into the redwoods. Sometimes you get to see seals, whales, and sea otters swimming about!
