Our Story

11/2011

We met through our Fellowship group. Officially we met at a week night Fellowship (bible study) my parents hosted, so we met in my parents' living room. I was 16 and Jonah was 24. We got to know each other more as friends through more Fellowships and weekend advances, but due to the age difference we weren't incredibly close. We had known each other for years but we didn't really connect (aside from the occasional facebook status comment) until November 2018 when we were both going through major life changes. I was travel nursing in Vermont and Jonah lived in Clearwater. We started out as friends and as our friendship grew we started to realize how much we meant to each other. Soon we were counting the days until my contract in VT ended and we could see each other again for the first time in years. Before we even started dating, Jonah told me we were going to spend our lives together. I wasn't sure how he was so certain but I had hope that he was right. It didn't take long for me to be see it was true. We are truly meant to be.

I said "yes" twice

9/28/19

Jonah asked me on a date out in St. Pete. I arrived at his place in a dress and he asked if I would be comfortable in a different dress. He showed me a striped sundress he had picked out himself. I tried it on and it was a perfect fit. He took me out to one of the beautiful St. Pete beaches and told me his friend had gotten baptized there. A lady in a camo shirt was paying for parking next to us, she turned to us and said, "Wow, these things are complicated aren't they?" Indeed beach parking meters are a strange design. We walked out to the shoreline where the sun was getting ready to set. The weather was beautful. Jonah put his arm around me, kissed and proceeded to tell me how much I meant to him. While playing "Unforgettable" by Nat King Cole the lady in camo started to snap photos of us. Moments later Jonah was down on one knee. He asked if I would marry him, then asked if I was sure, I said yes to both. Brandi, our amazing photographer did our engagement shoot following the proposal. She will also be our wedding photographer.

What's Up With The Crutches?

12/20/19

We were in a very high impact car accident on the way to Tallahassee for Christmas. Someone pulled across the highway in front of us while we were going 60. We received many injuries including Jonah's broken leg. He will be non weight bearing for 3 months. Of course we are proceeding with the wedding but our honeymoon will be delayed until Jonah can walk again.
