Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Caitlin Brammer and James Coward
Depending on your arrival and if you have time to fill in, Wollombi is a quaint historical town with plenty of fun things to do both in Wollombi itself and in the surrounding areas. We've included some recommendations below on things to do, however feel free to explore everything this area has to offer, particularly if you haven't been before! There's of course all of the fantastic wineries in the Hunter Valley region, with Pokolbin only a 30 minute drive away.

Hunter Valley Wine Tours

Hunter Valley, NSW, Australia

If you wish to add on extra days to your accommodation either before or after the wedding, why not check out some of the Hunter Valley's renowned wineries. You can either explore the wineries yourself or book a tour. We recommend contacting Grape Experience Tours to book a wine tour visiting some of the region's best wineries, including Undercliff, Wollombi, Stonehurst Wines, Cedar Creek, Krinklewood and Irongate Estate.

Wollombi Endeavour Museum

2896 Wollombi Rd, Wollombi, NSW 2325, Australia
, (02) 4998 3375

If you're staying in the Wollombi area itself, check out the Wollombi Endeavour Museum which is set inside the former courthouse from 1866. The Museum contains a number of exhibits and displays of local history from within the original late 1800’s Wollombi Court House Police Precinct.

Historical Wollombi Village Walk

Wollombi, NSW 2325, Australia

This easy 1 kilometre (0.6 mi) walk takes in the historic buildings and surrounds of Wollombi. The walk starts at The Obelisk located at the corner of Paynes Crossing Road and Wollombi Road opposite the Tavern. You can find a map of the walk at the Museum or download one from the website. The walk finishes at the Tavern which is the home of Dr. Jurd’s Jungle Juice!

Myrtle & Stone

2877 Wollombi Road, Wollombi, NSW 2325, Australia
, (02) 4998 3220

If you're looking for somewhere to stop for a coffee or a bite to eat, Myrtle & Stone is a café located along the main street of Wollombi. Myrtle & Stone has both all-day breakfast and lunch options using locally-sourced ingredients. There is also cocktail hour on Friday and Saturday nights from 4:00 to 7:00pm.
