The Shenandoah Valley is a beautiful area—if you’re here for the weekend, we hope you’ll explore some of what it has to offer (a few suggestions below). Just be sure to be at Rivercrest by 3:30 pm on Saturday so you can witness and celebrate our wedding with us!
If you’ve never experienced this underground wonder, now is the time. It’s about a 30-minute drive north of the venue. Tickets can be purchased in advance or upon arrival there. Allow at least an hour to tour.
Lots to explore in the Shenandoah Valley for Civil War buffs, including battlefields and military museums such as at New Market.
Whether or not you’re staying at Massanutten, this is an option—especially if you have kids who are already complaining about traveling for a wedding.
Rumor has it that there will be some homemade wines coming to the venue from up north, but you might prefer to sample some of the professionally produced ones from the area. Lots of places to choose from!
Fall foliage should be at or near its peak on the wedding weekend. Take a drive locally, or up to Skyline Drive in Shenandoah National Park via the Swift Run Gap entrance east of Elkton or Thornton Gap entrance east of Luray. (Fun fact: Skyland in Shenandoah NP was Caitlin’s first job site after college.)
