Please RSVP by September 18, 2025 using this link so we can give the caterer our final number. We’re also asking if you plan to attend the Friday welcome dinner and/or Sunday goodbye breakfast, just to help us plan for food. You can always show up to those events even if you didn’t say you would!
Both the ceremony and the reception will be at Rivercrest Farm and Event Center, 7384 E Point Rd, Elkton, VA 22827. Rivercrest is a working farm, with a real barn (not an event space masquerading as a barn!), but all pathways are paved. Handicapped parking will be available. Please indicate on your RSVP if you need to be on the ground floor of the barn for the reception. If you need to be on the ground floor of the barn for the reception, please email us at martinxmccabe@gmail.com.
With many guests coming from out of town, we’ve put together a weekend of gatherings. See the schedule for details. To fill out your visit to the Shenandoah Valley, we’ve also suggested things to do.
We have reserved a block of rooms at a reduced rate at Massanutten Resort, which is about 20 minutes away. Please book your stay by September 17. When calling to reserve, mention the McCabe/Martin Wedding October 2025 room block. See our Travel page for more details.
The wedding is in a rural setting, so you can’t rely on ride-share services—you’ll need to drive there or carpool with other guests.
Please arrive around 3:30 pm so you have time to park and walk down to the site by the Shenandoah River. The ceremony will start promptly at 4 pm.
Our afternoon ceremony will be outdoors by the Shenandoah River, with the cocktail hour also outside by the barn. Should the weather gods not smile down on us, both will move to inside the barn where dinner also will be held.
For the ceremony and reception, cocktail attire is appropriate. Guests will walk to the site from the parking area on a paved but somewhat uneven driveway. The barn also has an uneven floor. For those reasons, stiletto heels are not recommended. For the Friday evening welcome dinner and Sunday morning goodbye breakfast, dress comfortably and casually. Historically, the average high temperature on this weekend is 66 degrees while the low is 42. Hoping for a warm day, expecting a cool evening (already planning to have a campfire!).
We hope to keep our ceremony "unplugged" so our guests can truly be in the moment with us, so ask that you refrain from taking any photos or videos during the ceremony. During the cocktail hour and reception, feel free to snap away. We’d love it if you’d share your photos with us and will provide a link.
Your presence at our wedding is the greatest gift we could ask for! If you would like to honor us with a gift, you can find our registry on this site and purchase directly from there. A wedding card box will be at our reception.
