If so, contact Cait since she’s the travel expert!
Casual! It’s going to be pretty hot, so wear your favorite beach attire (hawaiin shirt, polos, sun dresses, etc.)
Cancun! Please note, Tulum is a straight shot down a two lane highway, so the trip from Cancun to Tulum is 1.5 hours dependent on traffic due to lane closures, constructions, and boys selling pistachios in the middle of the street.
Yes! Everyone gets a plus one, even if it wasn’t addressed on the invite.
The easiest answer is to contact Cait! She can help you, or she can direct you to our travel concierge! Do not look at the pricing on the Villa websites and be deterred from coming. We have invested a lot into the Villa pricing to drive down the pricing for all guests! We want to make this as affordable as possible for everyone, but if you still find pricing to be too high, reach out to us so we can help more with the accommodation!
We will keep you updated on all Covid related matters starting in September! In regards to deposits made on rooms, you will be reimbursed in full if a natural disaster postpones or cancels the wedding!
Once you book your flights, please provide the flight information to Cait! We are going to arrange shuttles based on a schedule that best fit the guests needs. Please note, we will only be providing shuttle services on the 4th and the 8th. If you plan on shortening or extending your stay, you will need to arrange your own shuttle service.
Yes! Also, remember your Passport must be valid, meaning it has to be renewed 6 months prior to the expiration date listed. It can take 6 to 8 weeks to obtain a passport so please plan accordingly.
VISA and Mastercard are widely accepted at established restaurants, hotels and retail stores. However, cab drivers, small retail shops, street food, and some spa services will only accept cash. A lot of places will accept USD; however the few places that only accept pesos will give you a bad exchange rate.
The recommendation is to plan ahead of time and do a currency exchange at your local AAA, as this will be the most cost effective. Are you not a planner and a procrastinator like us? you can exchange currency at the CUN airport or take money out at an ATM at the airport. Just make sure you contact your bank if you plan on taking money out at an ATM and do not use independent ATMs (as their is a risk that your card will be copied). You can also use banks while in MX.
No, while we would love to have you there for the entire weekend, we understand that it is not possible for everyone to make it down on Thursday evening. However, villas are reserved for guests who will be staying the entire duration of the wedding weekend (November 4-8). If you plan to come for a shorter period of time, a villa may not be available, and you may be responsible for your own accommodation.
No. That is where all the action will be, but understand this is your vacation too. Please keep in mind we will not be providing transportation for guests staying outside of Tulum, as most of our activities are within walking distance of all hotels on the beach strip.
Typical weather in November is highs in the 70's - 80's. Weather is mostly sunny, however we recommend coming prepared with a rain coat or umbrella in the event of inclement weather.
Tap water in Tulum should only be used for bathing. Plan to use bottled water for drinking and brushing teeth. Most hotels provide water bottles free of charge for guests.
The Tulum beach road is easy to get around by bike, foot, or taxi, as it is one road. Taxis are plentiful and safe. Be sure to have pesos available. The price for a taxi to and from destinations on the Tulum Beach Road is approximately 80 - 120 pesos (4-6 USD). The price for a taxi to destinations in Tulum Town is approximately 150 to 200 pesos (8-10 USD) . Always ask the price and negotiate cost before entering the taxi. There are many restaurants and bars within walking distance of the villas!
Yes! Majority of taxi drivers, concierge, waiters and bartenders all speak english.
No this is not, so remember to budget for meals! While there are a lot of expensive restaurants in tulum, there are also a lot of cheap but delicious eats! If you need cheap food recommendations, just ask us!
The cell service (for verizon anyways) was HORRIBLE. Most places have free wifi you can access; however, make sure you know where you are going before you start your journey (as maps won't work). It's pretty hard to get lost (since it's one road) but you may pass your destination without realizing it.
