It began in 8th grade on a field trip: two kids who met by chance and had no idea how much that moment would come to mean. Cailyn turned to her friends and said, “I’m going to marry that boy someday.” It took years of growing and finding their way back to each other, but she was right ... and she has been since. Their early story was full of all the sweetness and chaos of young love — laughter, heartbreak, and a healthy dose of drama. To our friends and families who patiently endured it all: thank you (and we’re sorry). Even when life pulled them in different directions, something about their story always found its way back. They reconnected at Penn State, where old memories became new beginnings. Between late nights, laughter, and their beloved friend group (the Pinchoes) their connection deepened, built on trust, time, and the space to let each other grow into who they were meant to be. After graduation came new cities, Pittsburgh and D.C., where they built homes full of friendship, joy, and community. The people they met there became family, supporting them through every high, low, and the challenges of long distance. When the world slowed down, they began a new chapter in Columbus, Ohio. It wasn’t the city they dreamed of, but it became home — especially after adopting their sweet Ella Fitz, who made their little family whole. Cailyn is the spark; Dillon is the calm. Together, they’ve built a life filled with love, laughter, and adventure — from afternoons at the wine shop to new corners of the world, always side by side. They got engaged in Barcelona and are now celebrating in Ireland — a place that captures everything they love most: travel, connection, and the joy of sharing life’s adventures with the people who have been part of their story all along.
We’ve been lucky, truly lucky, to be shaped by an incredible circle of family and friends. Every step of our journey has been influenced by the people who taught us, challenged us, cheered for us, and stood with us. We wouldn’t be who we are without you. As we step into this next chapter, we want you to know just how much you mean to us. We would never ask anyone to cross an ocean if we didn’t love you and genuinely want you there. Celebrating in Ireland is a dream for us, and having you join, whether in person or in spirit, means the world. If traveling feels like too much, please know that we completely understand. Your support, your presence in our lives, and the role you’ve played in our story matter far more than a plane ticket. And if you are making the trek, thank you. We can’t wait to raise a glass with you. If you have any questions along the way, from logistics to lodging to what on earth to pack, we’re here. Reach out anytime. With love and gratitude, Cailyn & Dillon
