Mark and Cailey met years ago at a friends gathering, and remained “social-media connected”. Mark would message Cailey about her travels while she was galavanting the world and living down in Georgia. Cailey wouldn’t necessarily message back until one day.. that one day turned into their forever story. While Cailey was home for a wedding in New Hampshire she ended up breaking her foot at the wedding (dancing nonetheless). Cailey was supposed to be moving to Utah that following week and instead she stayed in New Hampshire for a few months where Mark took care of her from that day forward to now for the rest of his life.

Mark and Cailey purchased some land last year, and one Fall Friday evening Mark wanted to “walk the land” with Cailey because they hadn’t done that yet together. Afterwards they were planning to go to Mark’s cousin, Maddy’s, field hockey game that evening. (They love going to sporting events especially watching his cousins play field hockey, Cailey’s sport!) How the plans changed quickly! While walking Mark was looking for the best spot to see the views of the lake, he found a large stump and they both stood up there then Cailey snapped a photo of them, not knowing Mark had a special box hidden in his hand. He turned her around and was on one knee with tears in his eyes and a huge grin on his face, he made Cailey the happiest girl in the world. In Mark’s backpack he had a bottle of Whispering Angel wine with two to-go wine cups, for them to celebrate while making calls to their family and friends! They went to Cailey’s parents house to then surprise her parents with the news! Mark’s Uncle Matt and Aunt Wendy are neighbors with the Newtons, so they also went and celebrated with them and Mark’s dad that evening! It was one they’ll never forget.
