Let's Celebrate, Texas Style!

Mac & Cailey: A guy from Truckee, California and a girl from Haskell, Texas. How did these two meet? A very unique place called John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, TX. Cailey began there as an ER nurse in 2018. Mac started working there first as a surgery resident in 2019 and then as an ER resident in 2020. They had run-ins from time to time but their first real interaction was at a Halloween party in 2021. The conversation started then and progressed to their first date in January 2022. Though they rarely worked the same shift, they began spending more and more of their free time together. Cailey made a move and offered to drive Mac to his Ironman 70.3 in Galveston (because Mac's Subaru was barely holding on). On that trip they found out they were pretty compatible and enjoyed traveling together. Since then, they have traveled to Chattanooga, Haskell, Seymour, Monterey, Napa, Oakland, San Francisco, Phoenix, Yellowstone NP, Grand Teton NP, San Angelo, Colorado, Thailand, and of course, Truckee. Mac moved back to California in July 2023. After 7 long months of long distance, Mac traveled back to Texas to load up a van and move Cailey, along with her cat Kevin, out to California. On April 20, 2024 Cailey thought they were headed to Truckee for a chill spring skiing day with their best friends at Palisades. However, Mac pulled off an amazing surprise, got down on one knee and proposed at High Camp at Palisades. After quickly getting over the shock Cailey said YES!!
