It All Started With A Brownie
We met in our generation's most sacred, romantic, and traditional way — Tinder. Yes, yes, we know some of you are reading that sentence with a bit of an eye roll, but after six years together, we can’t help but reflect on how odd and unlikely our meeting was. Just to put things in perspective: the night Justin went on Tinder was the only night he ever used the app. He had downloaded it as a joke with his high school buddies. Meanwhile, Jaq had just gotten over a breakup and, wanting to put herself back out into the dating world, logged on randomly. We often think back and wonder, if Justin hadn’t hung out with his friends that night, or if Jaq had waited just one more day, we might never have matched. On top of the luckiness of matching on Tinder, we had an instant connection. After talking for just two or three days, Jaq was at home in Broken Arrow making brownies and jokingly offered to bring one to Arkansas for Justin. Even more surprisingly, for those of you who know Justin, he agreed to go meet up on campus with the random girl online. We hit it off instantly, and Jaq likes to give all the credit to making a damn good brownie. So, with all the unlikely events that led to our meeting, we like to tell people it all started with a brownie.
