We first met in English class during our sophomore year of high school. I thought Andrew was hilarious - he was always making the class laugh (and getting himself into trouble). Our friendship was instant, but that’s as far as it went. We had the same friend group, so even after high school we would occasionally run into each other. Fast forward to November of 2011 and it would take an Ocean Mist Ticket Tuesday to finally bring us together. Over the next year and a half, we spent more and more time together and our feelings naturally grew. Unfortunately, it took a good friend’s unexpected passing for us to realize how much we meant to each other. That night was the first time Andrew told me he loved me, and I had zero hesitation saying it back. On June 4, 2013 we finally made our relationship official, and the rest is history!!
I really never thought Andrew would be able to surprise me with a proposal. He’s terrible at keeping a secret, and I’m a master at prying information out of him. I have to say, though, he really got me with this! The 4th was hazy, hot and extremely humid. We met up with some of our best friends, and debated going to the beach. I didn’t want to go, but my friend (and bridesmaid!), Tara, was so insistent that we get there that I reluctantly gave in. Little did I know Andrew had been plotting with her! On the beach, Andrew pulled me to the side. He said he didn’t want me to be his girlfriend anymore. I thought he was just being funny - I had told him earlier that day I had a dream he broke up with me! Andrew said he wanted me to be his wife, got down on one knee, and asked me to marry him! We spent the rest of the day surrounded by family and friends, and ended the night with a beautiful fireworks show. I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day!
