Lauren and Andrew met in anatomy lab during the first summer of their physical therapy program at VCU. Andrew knew one of Lauren’s lab partners from high school (thanks Rob!), and suddenly Andrew was finding lots of excuses to hang out on their side of the cadaver room. Andrew would stick around after lab was over to ask for Lauren’s help, and he sometimes drove her home from class, which he claimed was “on the way” but it definitely was not. From there, their relationship gained momentum, but they kept things quiet(ish) until they could be sure that they were compatible. By the following January they were ready to make things official, much to the relief of many of their classmates and friends. Since then, Andrew and Lauren have supported each other through their DPT program, moved to Norfolk and subsequently become perpetual nomads (for now!) through travel physical therapy. Their match is your typical ying-to-yang, where Lauren keeps Andrew semi-responsible, while Andrew keeps life fun (but is actually the cleaner one!). Lauren’s even convinced Andrew to try some “straight-line” sports (he’s a runner now), and Andrew tries to get Lauren to understand fantasy baseball. Through their differences, they’ve shared a love of breweries, water sports, Domino’s pizza, the friendly rivalry of Tech vs. UVA, and each other. They’re very excited for this next chapter in their lives, and can’t wait to celebrate with everyone!
