This is a great little art museum with lots of special exhibits and is a Sacramento classic.
This is one of our favorite bars to go to in Sacramento (and where Rachel inevitably challenges Mike to air hockey and lose miserably).
This is a great bar and restaurant to check out. While you are here, you can check out the Downtown Common area which has the Kings Stadium! LIGHT THE BEAM!
If you want to pretend like you are in the Gold Rush but simultaneously also want to see a million custom t-shirt shops, Old Sacramento is the place to go! It is worth a quick visit and has lots of bars and restaurants. If you like salt water taffy, this is a must must must.
The rose garden at the state capitol is beautiful. Enjoy the garden and take a nice walk around the Capitol grounds while you are at it!
This is our favorite brunch place in Sacramento (but it's everyone else's too!) So, make sure to go early or be okay with a wait but it will be worth it!
This is one of our favorite restaurants and the site of multiple birthdays! There are a lot of cute bars and restaurants surrounding the area as well.
This is one of the restaurants and bars in the building where Rachel works! Come to the bar and see drunk, stressed lawyers! (The food and drinks are also great!)
We love to going to Kings games and concerts at this arena! Check out the website because there might be a cool event happening!
If you're in the mood to catch a ball game, you gotta check out the home of the Triple A affiliate of the SF Giants, the River Cats! And now the home of the defunct Oakland A's! Catch a major or minor league game if you have time!
If you want to venture out of the city center and experience nature, you should check the American River Parkway Trail! It's a 32 mile trail that follows the American River and is a great place to run or walk!
If you're extending your trip, we highly recommend visiting Lake Tahoe! Just a short drive (~2 hrs) from Sacramento but the views are breathtaking and the lake is gorgeous. Fun Fact: Nevada's state line splits the lake in half so you can cross the border and gamble to your heart's desire!
Roughly 1.5 hrs outside of Sacramento, this quaint foothill town boasts Hallmark movie-esque scenery, great hiking, beautiful views, and great food!
