In November 2015, we were introduced by a mutual friend, Pedro Cabrera, who is Johnny's best man and best friend, and who was coaching at Theresa's travel volleyball club at the time. The next year, Johnny took Theresa to her senior prom, and one month later we made it official. Next came 4 years of long distance, while Theresa moved to DC to pursue her dream of playing collegiate volleyball. After graduation and 2 more years of hard work at home - graduate school for T, and finishing up a teaching degree for Johnny - we celebrated by taking a road trip around the country. Just a month later, we got engaged! (See THAT story below!)

In May 2022, Johnny and I went on a cross-country road trip. After a month of traveling from state to state, living out of a van, and exploring the best that the United States has to offer, I had to fly home early for work, and Johnny and I agreed that he would drive back to Florida over the course of a few weeks, to avoid burnout. Little did I know, while I was getting back in the swing of things at home, Johnny was rushing back to South Florida to surprise me with the proposal of my dreams. Just three days later, after an oceanside family dinner, Johnny was waiting for me on the beach to ask me to marry him. And thus began our greatest adventure yet!
